When you do what you love, you won't have to work another day of your life.
Over 15 years ago, I was diagnosed with advanced cancer and went through a year-long, aggressive chemotherapy protocol. Due to my weakened immune system, I was forced to take a year away from my teaching job and the general public. Since my childhood, nature has always been my happy place - so i spent most of that year enjoying peace and solitude in the woods, time with God and His magnificent creation.
I purchased my first digital SLR camera to document my journey and started posting my nature pictures on a new site, called Flickr. I absolutely fell in love with photography, at first with landscape and nature, but then eventually portraits as well. Even though I loved being an elementary teacher, I resigned from my teaching position in 2012 to pursue a full-time career in photography. I did the hard work to become a CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) in 2016 and also obtained my Masters Photography Degree through the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) in 2018. I have continued to grow and learn to improve my skills. I am grateful to God for both my healing and the journey. I LOVE what I do.
Its been said, when you do what you love, you won't have to work another day of your life.
